Balancing the Pros and Cons

The advent of e-commerce gave us the most promising form of shopping in the history of mankind. It is seamlessly easy, flexible and accessible. The shopping sector has witnessed a tremendous shift as millions of shoppers are now opting for online shopping to buy goods and service. But like any phenomenon, online shopping has its good and bad facets as well.

On one hand, there are a number of drawbacks of buying things on the internet. Customers can now use the internet to shop for items any time from any corner of the world, eliminating any geographical place restrictions. Customers no longer have to deal with big crowds and long lines because they can easily access online sites without having to leave their homes. In addition, because there is so much competition for e-commerce websites, people may find much cheaper deals on a wide variety of items without even having to leave their homes.

But of course there are also the drawbacks of online shopping. The use of cyber shopping puts the individual vulnerable to potential danger of theft of their private and sensitive information such as bank details and passwords. In addition, the experience of shopping without actually feeling or seeing the items bought makes it hard to predict how much of a size is needed or the quality of the product.

Last but not least, there is considering the transportation of goods, the environmental concern overpackaging and the carbon footprint left over by the delivery has to be asked.
